Scott Walker for POTUS ?
0

I'm a Wisconsin resident, this guy is Bush times two.  Huge cuts to the Wisconsin education system......stripped union workers on contractual rights.....huge cuts to medicare ....repubes would be better off having Trump as a candidate.

Actually if I had to choose a Republican I'd pick him over many of the others. But he has no chance at winning the nomination. He has the charisma of a fish. He's going to drown on the national stage.

I am all for putting a lid on public employee unions, who have been pandered to by Democrats for way too long.  Walker is not ready for the national stage though, and probably never will be.

Whoever thought Bush could get elected..TWICE !  Any thing is possible, if he gets elected, old folks and the education system will suffer, he will do whatever is in his power to make sure the wealthy and the  corporate bigwigs  (his base) make out like bandits...

Like him - don't like him - don't care as he's not my guy. But that being said, Wisconsin was headed down the road of Greece until he came along. We, as a nation, have to solve the debt issue for the sake of our children. Even if you tax the top 5% at a 95% rate, it's not enough. "Hope and Change" didn't work so what do you do next?

Stop spending money we don't have. That works really well. Hurts at times, deal with it.

I have the ability to make pretty good money. More in a week than most households hope for in a month. That got me into a lot of trouble because I always had the mentality that I could just earn my way out of any budget issues that ever come up. Problem is there are a lot of times that I can't make the big money. Always seems that my budget crisis coincided with the times of unemployment....

Finally one day someone hit me over the head and said, "you cannot out earn your spending, you have to only spend what you have." Go figure, they were right. Outside of my house, which I am selling, I am debt free and what a relief that is!

Until we as a people learn that we cannot spend money we don't have, for things we don't really need, how can we expect our leaders to do the same? Stop blaming the government, we are the ones at fault. If you want to see change start with yourself.

Off my soapbox, for now.

Love your union stance  but I  have to draw the line on the so called  "public servant unions"   EVERYONE should ,....at least if you're  pro-union,... as most who have given the unions a good name  are those who are OR those who have worked in the private industry/sector,...those peeps,...  don't have anywhere near a pension plan as those who work or have worked in serving the public,... I'd love to retire at 60 to 70 % of  the prevailing wage

No offense Navy,...BUT   where were they when you needed them most ??

The public servant unions have made it bad for any and all union memberships  and it's the private sector unions who are taking the biggest hit due to such,...and too bad.

it's not about the unions as much as it is about pensions           Why should a public servant who works no where near as hard as those who work in the real world,...  "the private sector" get the better pensions plans ???   WHY ??? ,....WHY ???????  and please don't give me ,....  that's the ultimate goal in working a union job

When all it's been about providing a good wage for a hard day's work with good benny's too boot

The public servant servant unions have stepped over the lin,....  and no one seems to want to draw the line  other than to break the unions completely,....  the fools they are

Agree 100%.  We're at the point where government workers make more than the private sector which is nuts.  It used to be the government workers made a little less but it was offset by better benefits.  Now they have higher wages AND better benefits.

In the private sector the union is on one side of the table and management is on the other, and they negotiate to find a solution in the middle.  Since public sector unions contribute heavily to Democrats they are both sitting on the same side of the table.  This means when Democrats are in charge both the union and the management are motivated to find a solution to benefit the union.

I'm not necessarily criticizing Democrats here, it's more criticism of a system that lets workers donate money to the people that are supposed to be their bosses and opponents, at least when it comes to contracts.  I would actually like to see private sector unions STRONGER since that is one way to fight wage inequality.
