Posting Links; Please Read
0

Please make sure to post a link to any articles you copy and paste here on the forums. It is important for two reasons. The first and more important is that it protects us from ever getting in trouble for plagiarism. The second is so that other posters can refer back to the original article for information not added in the post, or if they want to verify the info, or....

Thank you for the help, and thank you to those that are finding and posting the stories for us to read. It has been exciting to see the post counts and discussions slowly increasing again. Especially considering how little is going on right now.

I am not 100% sure. I have read and heard that the answer is no. But that mostly has been in reference to another news source basically reposting someone else's work. Such as the Daily Sun using and posting a full article from the Tribune. I think that in a forum setting like this we don't qualify as a news source and are likely ok as long as we link back to the source. Especially if it happens less often than not.

Saying that I always try and cut out parts of the article that are not related to the post I am wanting to convey, sometimes if it is even just a opening or ending paragraph thrown in by the writer. That's when you see the ***** in my posts. It just lets people reading know that there is something more I deemed unimportant but maybe they would like to see for themselves.

If taking the extra time needed to do that is going to prevent anyone from posting, I would rather see them post the whole article with a link to the source than just not post at all.

I welcome anyone that has any further knowledge regarding this to please chime in.

You are not allowed to post the entire article. (That constitutes theft and plagiarism) Only "Quote" portions and you must give a link to the original article.

We have gone down this road before here. We are lucky enough that this forum is so small that we aren't on anyones radar here. But give credit where credit is do.

The only forum that I know that requires this is Scout that is because the have a writer on staff.

I read somewhere that the biggest fear teams have about playing the Bears at home is Soldier Field grounds keepers.
