Jay Cutler out 2-3 weeks with cracked ribs.

$10 million, for 6 games. Not bad pay fro an old retired guy! Miami claims it is now Moore's chance. Should they have just gone this way in the beginning?

Jay will likely be outplayed by Moore. He had his chance tom rewrite his legacy, to show that he was better than the player Chicago made him. And didn't. Pretty much looked the same.

Who?

Matt Moore, the Miami Dolphins backup QB to Tannehill and his replacement (some dead guy)!

Well, Adam Gase is known as a Quarterback Whisperer. So it is completely possible that Matt can elevate his play to out perform a corpse, with cracked ribs.

*Edit: Adam Gase needing another QB on his roster, has picked up another "Dead Guy". Seems this corpse is named David Fales.....

Chargers sign Michael Ola, put Matt Slauson on IR

The Chargers announced on Monday that guard Matt Slauson will miss the rest of the season with a biceps injury and they made a roster move on Tuesday to get a healthy body on the roster.

The team has signed offensive lineman Michael Ola to the 53-man roster. He’ll take Slauson’s spot as the team has placed the veteran on injured reserve.

It’s the second time that the well-traveled Ola has spent time with the Chargers. He spent time on their practice squad and saw action in one game during the 2015 season before moving on to the Lions.

Ola made seven starts for the Lions that year, but didn’t make the team in 2016 and Ola wound up playing in six games for Buffalo. He’s also spent time with the Seahawks, Bears, Giants and Dolphins since starting his professional career with stints in the Arena League and CFL.

Adam Gase says Jay Cutler will start next week against the Raiders if his rib injury permits him to do so. Matt Moore threw two pick sixes in the blow out loss to the Ravens. 40-0

Moore had his chance and proved he is not the answer at QB for Gase.

With Miami tumbling to the bottom of their division, Gase may find his seat getting hotter.

Would Bears fans welcome him back to Chicago? As an OC? As a HC? As a QB coach?

Gase would still be a huge upgrade at OC compared to what we have now, lol.

I wish he would have gotten a shot Gase would gotten a shot as a HC in Chicago. Remember that he did interview for that job the year John Fox eventually got that job. I'd be willing to give Gase a shot here as a head coach. Fox is past his prime.

Texans release Lamarr Houston

The Giants aren’t the only ones making way for a youth movement.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Texans are releasing veteran outside linebacker Lamarr Houston.

Acquired earlier this season after Whitney Mercilus was lost for the season (when it made sense to add veteran parts), Houston had a sack in five games, and returned a fumble for a touchdown against the Colts.

But with last night’s loss to the Ravens effectively killing their slim playoff hopes (such that the losses of J.J. Watt and Deshaun Watson didn’t do that already), they apparently figured they might as well play some younger players.

The 30-year-old Houston was plagued by injuries during his time with the Bears, but could be of service to someone else down the stretch.

Bears claim Lamarr Houston off waivers

Who says you can’t go home again?

The Bears claimed outside linebacker Lamarr Houston off waivers from the Texans on Wednesday.

Houston played in 26 games for the Bears over three seasons, making nine sacks and 57 tackles from 2014-16. He tore an anterior cruciate ligament while celebrating a sack in 2014 and then tore it again in 2016. The Bears placed Houston on injured reserve again this season with another knee injury before reaching an injury settlement with him September 6.

The Texans signed Houston on October 10 after losing Whitney Mercilus for the season. Houston made a sack and returned a fumble for a touchdown in five games with the Texans.

Houston, 30, has 26.5 career sacks since the Raiders made him a second-round pick in 2010.

*******

smh

over under on when he blows his knee out celebrating a meaningless sack in garbage time?
